Preparation of Apple Tart

1. Prepare the dough. In a bowl mix flour, sugar and salt. With a pastry blender cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle with water and mix with a fork to form a dough (do not use fingers). Roll the dough over a floured surface and line a tart mold. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

2. Peel and cut apples in halves. Core and slice the apples finely. Arrange them in the bottom of the mold. Sprinkle with sugar and dot with butter. Cook in a 375° oven 50-60 minutes.

3. Melt the jam with the brandy or water and brush the apples. Serve warm.
